DANCE REVOLUTION POLICIES & INFORMATION
Welcome to Dance Revolution! We hope that you enjoy your dance journey with us. Please read the following information carefully so you are aware of the requirements. Any questions or concerns please contact us.
Attendance:
Regular attendance is important and is taken at each class. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled class time so you can put your dance shoes on and be ready to start class. It is extremely difficult for your class and teacher if you are away. Students who are chronically absent will not be eligible to perform at the annual dance concert.
Registration:
An annual registration fee of $45.00 (non-refundable) applies to all students. This will need to be paid with your enrollment to secure your class position.
Term Fees:
Term Fees are due in full prior to the commencement of term by direct deposit or cash. Late payments are not acceptable. If fees are not paid in full prior to term commencement and alternative arrangements are not discussed with Dance Revolution Accounts Organizer than your child will not be able to take class until full payment is made.
Term fees are non-refundable and discounts are not given for students away on holidays or if away sick. Please be aware that all students are charged by the Term and this secures their position in the class.
Make-up class & Refunds:
No make-up class or refund on term fees will be given to students not attending their class. This includes missed dance classes for family holidays.

Suggestions are carrot sticks, cheese and crackers or piece of fruit. Students will get 5 minutes to have their snack half way through class time.
WE ARE A NUT FREE ZONE. NO FOOD WITH NUTS OR TRACES OF NUTS ARE TO BE CONSUMED IN OUR FACILITY.
Class observation:
It would be preferred if parents drop off and pick up their children for dance sessions. For parents who wish to stay, you may wait in the office/waiting area.
Dance Concert:
The annual dance concert is a great opportunity for both parents and students; it is a fun and exciting time for all! Please note: that if you would like to participate, be aware that it is a COMMITMENT! It is a commitment to you, your child, the instructor and other classmates/parents. It is mandatory that students attend dance classes and concert rehearsals in order to learn the dances, and perform at their best.
If you plan on going away on holidays please arrange your holidays with holiday training, rehearsals and concert dates in mind. These dates are compulsory to attend.
Costumes:
Costume ordering commences in Term 2 & 3. You will be emailed an invoice and payment will be required within 2 weeks to ensure costumes are ordered on time. Please note that orders will only be made for those families who have paid for their costumes in full by the required date. Please allow approximately $50-$120 per costume. Cost's will vary and will depend on styles and fabrics chosen. We will do our best to order the most cost effective costumes.
CLASS HELPERS FOR REHEARSALS/CONCERT:
All parents wishing to help will need to have a working with children’s check. You can get all the necessary information from your post office or online. It is free to do. There will be a limit of 1 parent helper per 5 dancers. So depending on the size of the class the amount of helpers will vary. An application form for parent helpers will be handed out during the year.
STUDENT CONTACT DETAILS:
It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your contact details anytime throughout the year, this also includes medical. It is extremely important to have correct information especially in emergency situations.
Questions and suggestions: Questions and suggestions are welcome, but please do not interrupt a class. Please contact Laura Iaconis during office hours Monday-Friday 10am-2pm on 0417 101 686 or email dancerevolution@live.com.

Parent Code of Conduct
At Dance Revolution we are very fortunate to have a supportive and friendly parent body. Our parents recognize that educating children is a process that involves partnership between parents, teachers and the community. As a partnership our parents will understand the importance of a good working relationship.
The purpose of this policy is to provide a reminder to all parents, carers and visitors to our dance school about the expected conduct. This is so we can continue to flourish, progress and achieve in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.
Guidance
Dance Revolution will expect parents, carers and visitors to:
- Respect all policies of our dance school.
- Understand that both teachers and parents need to work together for the benefit of their children.
-Demonstrate that all members of the dance school community should be treated with respect and therefore set a good example in their own speech and behavior.
-Seek to clarify a child’s version of events with the dance school’s view in order to bring about a peaceful solution to any issue.
-Correct own child’s behavior especially in public where it could otherwise lead to conflict, aggressive behavior or unsafe behavior.
-Approach the dance school to help you resolve any issues of concern.
-Avoid using staff as threats to admonish children’s behavior.
In order to support a peaceful and safe dance school environment we cannot tolerate parents, carers and visitors exhibiting the following:
-Disruptive behavior which interferes or threatens to interfere with the operation of a dance class, office area or any other area of the dance school including exams days or any dance performances.
-Using loud/or offensive language, swearing, cursing, using profane language or displaying temper.
-Threatening to do actual bodily harm to a member of dance staff, visitor, fellow parent/carer or student regardless of whether or not the behavior constitutes a criminal offence.
-Damaging or destroying dance school property.
-Abusive or threatening e-mails or text/voicemail/phone messages or other written communication.
-Defamation of the school or staff character on Facebook or other social sites.
-The use of physical aggression towards another adult or child. This includes physical punishment against your own child on dance school premises.
-Approaching someone else’s child in order to discuss or chastise them because of their actions towards their own child. (Such an approach to a child may be seen to be an assault on that child and may have legal consequences).
-Smoking and consumption of alcohol or other drugs.
Should any of the above behavior occur the dance school may feel it is necessary to contact the appropriate authorities and, if necessary, even ban the offending adult and their child from returning to Dance Revolution.
We trust that parents and carers will assist our dance school with the implementation of this policy and we thank you for your continuing support of the dance school.

Dance Revolution Responsibilities
1. Dancers/Parents are expected to be responsible for all paper-work and information that is distributed to them. E-mail will be used to communicate information. Dancers and/or parents should check their e-mail daily. Newsletters may also be handed out at the end of class so it's your responsibility to check each week.
2. Dancers are expected to be responsible for all costuming, shoes, and accessories. Any dancer who decides to act in a negative manner toward fellow teammates or staff will be dealt with at the discretion of the class teacher and principal and could potentially be dismissed from the school.
7. Dancers must respect ALL teachers, choreographers and rehearsal managers at all times. Disrespectful behaviour will NOT be tolerated and will be dealt with at the discretion of the class teacher and principal.

2. Dancers must be accompanied by an adult or guardian when attending events.
3. Dancers and parents are asked to be supportive of Dance Revolution. It is imperative that any and all comments that could potentially be negative about our dance school are kept to yourself. If you have a concern or a comment, please contact the school principal, Laura Iaconis. Please contact us via e-mail or telephone during office hours.
4. No screaming names or shouting at Competitions or any performances. Applause is proper theatre etiquette to show support and appreciation.
5. While attending an event, it is important that Dance Revolution students and parents display good sportsmanship to other teams, as well as respect the staff members at the event.
Injured Dancers
If you should become injured at any time throughout the year and expect to recover and perform with Dance Revolution at the end of year concert, while injured, it is important that you attend all rehearsals as usual so that you can observe all new choreography and any changes that are being made. We also ask that you bring in a doctor's note regarding the specifications of your injury and keep us updated with your progress.
